“Siem Reap’s dirty little secret”

by Dominic Stafford

A friend of mine invited me on a trip to Siem Reap’s dump at Trapeang Thom, as he wants to donate to the local NGO working there. I was surprised how humble and friendly the locals were – in fact I was rather enjoying their company. It’s quite an isolated place – hard to find – with men, women and children picking out recyclables almost silently. The Phnom Penh Post just recently ran an article on the place.
